Uwajimaya (International District: Walkable or bus)

600 5th Avenue South

This isn’t just a supermarket, it’s a tourist destination. My parents love to visit here each time they come to town. Not only can you pick up new and surprising flavors of snack crackers, you can stroll the seafood aisle and check out the creepy Geoducks (pronunciation: “gooey duck”).

There’s a big fun gift department and a giant food court, complete with cream puff shop. Plus a bookstore, and who knows what else.

Magic Mouse Toys (Pioneer Square: Walkable or bus)

603 1st Ave

Fun little toy store.

Pink Gorilla Games (International District: Walkable or bus)

601 S King Street

Gamer-y stuff and wacky stuffed animals.

Not far from the Uwajimaya.

Tenzing Momo (Downtown in the Market: Walkable)

Downtown in Pike Place Market, 206.623.9837

Aaron Nelson | @SqlVariant reminded me of this place: it’s a great herb and tea shop in Pike Place Market. Even if this isn’t usually your thing, it’s fun to take a walk through the market and stop and look around here.

You can pick up some tarot cards while you’re in the store.
